To use any of the RealSpeak voices, you must be running PAC Mate Omni release 6.5 or later. The Eloquence language modules can be installed on any version of PAC Mate Omni as well as older PAC Mates running a release no earlier than 2.5.
These voices are available at no charge. The RealSpeak Solo voices can be installed into main memory or on a CompactFlash card. If you intend to install more than one voice, it is recommended that you install them onto a CompactFlash card, as each voice requires at least 10 megabytes of storage space. Additional Eloquence languages are always installed to main memory, and each language will occupy between 1.5 and 2 MB of space. Once a voice is installed, you can open the Voice Settings dialog box, move to the Secondary page, and configure it as your secondary voice, which is active when you use INSERT+S, L on the QX or S CHORD, L on the BX to toggle between the primary and secondary voice. For more information on configuring the secondary voice, refer to the PAC Mate Omni documentation.
Vocalizer Expressive version 1 voices are available for use with JAWS 15, JAWS 16, JAWS 17 and MAGic 13.1. These voices offer many benefits including pitch adjustment, improved performance, especially in the areas of latency and speech quality, as well as support for a variety of languages. Each voice can be downloaded as high premium or premium. The high premium voices are large files, but offer the highest quality speech. The premium voices offer very good speech quality and a smaller file size. Both high premium and premium versions of a voice can be installed on the same computer so they can be compared.
Vocalizer Expressive version 2 voices are available for use with Fusion 11, JAWS 18, ZoomText 2018, and MAGic 14 (or later for each application). These voices are offered in two forms: compact voices and individual high premium voices. The compact voices are smaller files and take up less disk space on your computer. As a result, you can download a single file that contains all voices and dialects for a selected language. These voices offer very good speech quality at fast speech rates. The high premium voices are larger files, but offer the highest quality speech.
Note: When you install a version 2 voice, any version 1 voices installed on your computer are no longer available in your voice profiles for use with JAWS 18 or later and MAGic 14 or later. To restore the version 1 voices, you must first uninstall all version 2 voices.
If text-to-speech is available in your language, you can adjust voice settings to change reader voices and speeds when using audible features like Read Aloud in Immersive Reader. You can also download voice packages, connect a microphone for speech recognition, and more.
To use alternate voices for a language, you can select additional commands to change various voice and pronunciation attributes. For more information, see Preset voice variants can be applied to any of the language voices by appending a plus sign (+) and a variant name. The variants for male voices are +m1, +m2, +m3, +m4, +m5, +m6, and +m7. The variants for female voices are +f1, +f2, +f3, +f4, and +f5. You can also choose optional voice effects such as +croak or +whisper.
PLEASE NOTE: These voices require that Texthelp Read&Write Version 7.1 or Texthelp Read&Write GOLD Version 7.1 is installed first on your computer. Previous versions of Read&Write are not compatible with this new Australian Voice format.

Alex rocks. With that said I will go through my favourite voices.I prefer Tessa, the South African voice, for English, but also use Daniel, UK english. For swedish I use male Siri. The thing I like with Tessa is that it has the same accent as I do.Not sure what voice I use for spanish though. I am using the default.I use Nora for Norwegian voice.
I just got my first iPhone and have briefly checked out all the voices or at least most of them. But for now I only have Samantha and the new female Siri voice. It's cool that the Siri voices are also available for VO on the iPhone. That said, I will probably switch them around from time to time once I get help with authorizing my phone. I currently have Fred as the content voice on my Mac, and Samantha Compact for everything else.
I've had some Android friends tease me about using Samantha, they kept telling me that she sounded like a heavy smoker, but although I've tried other voices, I keep coming back to Samantha compact. I would much rather have the best lightest voice on my phone.
As for JAWS, Kimbowen, there are other voices you can download from Freedom Scientific's website, you're not stuck only using Eloquence. I used to use the one of the Real-Speak voices before, but for testing purposes, I tried Eloquence and have to admit, been using it ever since. Would be kind of cool if we could get Eloquence as a voice for VoiceOver though. Ah well, the closest match is Fred, but I am not that crazy about his voice. Prefer Eloquence default voice over Fred anyday.
I use Samantha default because I'm used to that voice. I tried out the new Siri female voice and it bothers me at high speaking rates. I keep it at about 72.Samantha, on the other hand, sounds fine to me at the high rate. I'm sure I would get used to most voices if I switched, though.
Okay, I admit the subject is rather vague. But the mother of one of my former coworkers is actually named Siri. I've not met her, but it'd be cool if she was one of the voices too. Btw, I just attended another training session today for my iPhone and the guy showed me some more things. I think I will play around with the different voices over the weekend. I've noticed that the iPhone does not have separate settings for Content voice, Pitch and some others are missing. But then again I'm only a novice iOS user, so I might've missed something.
Hi,In my case I like Victoria on Mac. Kate would be a close second. Samantha Would also be another close second. For iOS I\"m fine with the Samantha compact voice.personally I do like the apple voices better than something like NVDA, JAWS, or even when I had Window Eyes. The Apple voices just sounds more human like and less robotic. sTill have a time or two when they are more robotic sounding, but over all more human sounding which makes it more appealing.Chuck
Now that would be nice. On the Mac side, I've been using infoVox for a few years now. The happy voices are just hilarious! I mean, If you cap the first letter of some words and put an exclaim they at least Peter, yells some words and laughs a little, lol! Alex is great as well. I'm glad the nuance vocalizer voices are there too.
This is just wishing because none of this will ever happen. I'd love Eloquence, but something about it announcing phone calls doesn't seem quite right. If we got Alexa, I'd only want the US English voice because I'm not a big fan of the other English accents. But I'd prefer the new Google voices, especially the original US English female voice (the one you get by default with Google Home and Google Assistant).
I used to use Samantha Enhanced, but after new voices were introduced, I started playing with them all since I didn't think you could before. Now, I use Ava Enhanced. She sounds more human and less like a robot which makes reading a lot easier. I use the new siri voice for Siri. Ava might take up a bit of space, but for me at least, it's well worth it!
Hello, my favorite voice is Alison, siri sounds to me very quite. For hebrew language i use Carmit voice, it sounds very clear but stronger more than other voices. for Jaws for windows i use the same voice that i have on my iPhone. To my nolage the voices for Jaws sounds beter, and more gentle from Apple.
I use Fred for everything!I love Eloquence, DecTalk, and all such voices, so I was thrilled when they added Fred as an option. It really made all the difference, and is the reason I began using my phone as more than a phone. Before that, I disliked the voices so much that I never considered my phone useful for reading, etc. The robotic type voices are just easier to hear, can speak at a faster rate, and just seem more efficient, to me. And sighted people can't easily understand them. Long live Fred! Also, I truly don't understand why Eloquence can't be used on the Iphone. It's an option for Android, and I did experiment with an Android phone for a few months, just to use as a book reader. It worked well until there was some change in Dropbox that made it tough to import files. I'm now a contented fan of VoiceDream, with Fred, of course. 153554b96e
