Being a free app, its limitations only step out in terms of sound quality. Windows Media Player is not bundled, but he can be downloaded for an additional $8.99. While it may be free, you do not have to own a special MIDI keyboard to use it. There is a ton of support for other devices such as the Logitech MK425 keyboard ($149.99) through MIDI. Once you learn the software (which is easy - just follow along with the training videos) it will play back MIDI keyboards if you have them and can also plug an MPC-1000 keyboard into it via USB and control a DS4. This is a very flexible app.
You can also use a USB keyboard to control the tempo of the BTV Solo samples. The only downside is there is no automation for the steps. However, if you are used to using an automated drum machine in the past, this is a small sacrifice.
In my opinion, the best aspect of BTV Solo is that it is a sample-based software system. So, how does this compare with a DAW like FL Studio or Ableton if you are already a pro with traditional drum software?
There's a reason some of the best DJs use the BTV Solo software. It has over 3,000 professionally recorded samples. Different drum kits for specific genres, velocity sensitivity, and all of the built-in features of a software drum machine. The samples sound excellent and the workflow is intuitive. There are step-by-step training videos to get you going, but you can also video their instructors teaching it if you need help. d2c66b5586
